Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information SiriusMed collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language because you should not need a lawyer to understand how your health information is handled.
Who we are
SiriusMed provides an AI care nurse assistant that checks in on patients over WhatsApp, voice calls and SMS, together with a patient app and SiriusMed EMR for clinics. In this policy, “SiriusMed”, “we” and “us” refer to the operator of siriusmed.io and the SiriusMed applications. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@siriusmed.io.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, gender and password when you create an account.
- Health information: medications and their schedules, vitals readings such as blood pressure and blood sugar, symptoms you report, antenatal and immunization schedules, and your adherence history.
- Check-in conversations: the messages and voice call interactions you have with the care nurse assistant, including the reminders we send and the responses we receive.
- Caregiver and care team details: the caregivers, clinics or health programs you connect to your account so they can receive updates.
- Technical data: device and browser information, IP address and usage logs that help us keep the service secure and reliable.
How we use your information
- To run your daily check-ins, medication reminders, vitals tracking and antenatal or immunization schedules.
- To send updates about how you are doing to the caregivers you have connected.
- To share check-in data with your clinic through SiriusMed EMR when you are under a clinic’s care or enrolled in a health program.
- To provide support, keep the service safe and improve how it works.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
How check-ins reach you
Check-ins are delivered over WhatsApp, voice calls and SMS. These channels are operated by third parties, and messages carried over them are also subject to those providers’ own terms and privacy policies. You can change your preferred channel or pause check-ins at any time from the app, or by telling the assistant to stop.
When we share information
- With the caregivers you have invited or approved, who can see updates about your check-ins, adherence and vitals.
- With your clinic or health program when you are enrolled with them, so your care team can see what happened between visits.
- With service providers who help us run SiriusMed, such as hosting, messaging, telephony and payment providers. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a patient or the public.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal information except where we are required to keep certain records by law, or where limited data is needed to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and will notify you as required if a breach affects you.
Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Stop or pause check-ins and reminders on any channel.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@siriusmed.io and we will respond as required by law.
Children
SiriusMed accounts are for adults. Health information about children, such as immunization schedules, is provided and managed by a parent or guardian through their own account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or on your check-in channel.
